Roles & Permissions?

Roles & Permissions allow you to control access, protect sensitive data, and ensure every team member sees only what’s relevant to their role. This guide walks you through how to configure permissions correctly so your system stays secure, organised, and scalable.

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to:

  • Create and manage custom roles
  • Configure module-level access
  • Set action-level permissions (view, edit, approve, delete)
  • Assign roles to users and teams
  • Apply best practices for a secure, well-structured setup

Step 1: Navigate to Roles & Permissions

From the main menu, go to:

Settings → Roles & Permissions
This will open the Roles & Permissions management screen, where you can create roles and define access levels across the platform.

This opens the full access control area for your workspace.

Step 2: Create a New Role

Click Add Role (located at the top-right of the screen).
Enter the following details:

  • Role Name – A clear name that reflects the user’s responsibilities
  • Description (optional but recommended) – Helps administrators understand the purpose of the role

Once saved, this role will be available for permission configuration.

Click Save to create the role.

Step 3: Open the Role View Screen

After saving the role, you’ll be taken to the Role View screen.
This screen is organised into tabs that help you manage the role in detail.

General Tab

The General tab displays:

  • Role name and description
  • A list of users currently assigned to this role

This tab gives you a quick overview of who the role applies to before configuring permissions.

Add Employees to the role

  • Click the “Add Employee” button
  • Checkboxes to select one or multiple employees

  • To assign:
  1. Check the box next to each employee you want to add.
  2. Click Save
  3. You can also unassign the role if you want to.

Permissions

The Permissions tab controls what users in this role can access and perform across the platform.

Permissions are organised by module. Across the top, you’ll see categories such as:

  • Business Setup
  • Analytics
  • HR
  • CRM
  • Proposals
  • Builder
  • Task Manager

Each module contains its own set of permission toggles, allowing you to define exactly what actions this role can take within that module.

This screen is where you manage all settings for that specific role.

Business Setup Permissions

In the Business Setup module, you will see:

Business Settings
Allow Users to Access Business Settings → (toggle ON/OFF)

This controls whether users in this role can open:

  • Business Profile

  • Billing (future)

When OFF:
Users cannot access any business-level configurations.
